Mocha Punch (S)

The Babiak Ladies have come to be known for their Mocha punch.  We get requests to bring this to showers, get togethers and it is a favorite during any celebration over here.  Our old version was full of carbs and really bad for us.  While this recipe is not a purist recipe because it does have Splenda in it, there is a huge improvement in lowering the carbs.  This was successful as it tasted just like our old recipe.  We will probably continue to work at making it more of a purist recipe, but for now we don't have to go without during the holidays.  If you are following the Trim Healthy Mama plan, Splenda is approved in small quantities as long as you don't use it all the time.
This recipe is certainly for a special occasion and should be used sparingly.

Here's the recipe that my lovely daughter Kaila came up with.

Mocha Punch
by:  Kaila Babiak

2 cups water
4 cups coffee
1/2 cup truvia
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup zero calorie chocolate flavor
1/2 gallon Breyer's carb smart chocolate ice cream
1/2 gallon Breyer's carb smart vanilla ice cream
Homemade whipped cream
Chocolate curls made out of 90% dark Lindt chocolate bar

Bring water to boil.  Whisk in Truvia, cocoa powder, and chocolate flavor until dissolved.  Add 4 cups of coffee.  Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.  About 30 minutes before serving, pour mixture into a large punch bowl.  Add ice cream by spoonfuls, stir until partially melted.  Garnish with dollups of whipped cream and chocolate curls if desired.
